Melocactus Matanzanus 5.5" elephant ear minimalist illustration and a dashMelocactus Matanzanus is a symmetrical cactus with beautiful, strong spines. These cacti become very interesting with age, growing a fuzzy "cephalium" on top of the cactus that produces the plant's flowers and edible fruit. The common name, Turks Cap, refers to this wool covered sphere at the top of the plant which resembles the traditional Turkish fez hat popular during the Ottoman rule.
