I left it attached to backing board on which it was originally mounted as it could not easily be removed

That sale was of a Boston gallerist who dealt in Haitian art, and I believe that these are Haitian teak. Interestingly, they have a darker stain starting about a third of the way down the handles, and there is a signature carved into one handle, but I can't quite discern it. I love the combination of
