Mixed Shapes Carnelian Strand Yoruba It may depict a Hindu28" strand of tabular, cylindrical, round, and bear claw shaped carnelian stone, finely cut and drilled in Idar Oberstein, Germany, and traded in Mali, West Africa in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Tabular are 32mm diameter x 6mm thick; Cylinders are 17mm diameter x 36mm tall; 2 20mm diameter round beads, 2 34mm tall x 5mm thick bear claws in the center. This is an excellent example of German Idar Oberstein stone cutting, material mined in Brazil.
