FAQ of Nitrogen Generator
What to do if PSA nitrogen generator sprays dust?
1. Inspect the material discharged from the muffler.
Typically, there will be small particles. Check whether the particles are activated carbon or molecular sieve. Both appear as black solids, but they differ in shape.
2. If activated carbon is discharged:
This issue is relatively minor. Remove the activated carbon filter, empty the activated carbon, and inspect the wire mesh at the bottom. If the mesh is damaged, replace it with a new stainless steel mesh. Refill the filter carefully, ensuring it is fully packed to minimize friction between particles that could create dust.
3. If molecular sieve material is discharged:
This is a more serious problem. The equipment must be sent back to the factory for a full inspection and overhaul.
Precautions for Commissioning and Operating Air Compressors in Nitrogen Generators
a. Commissioning of new machines must be performed by personnel designated or approved by the company.
b. Before starting, ensure no one is inside the unit, remove any tools or debris, and close the unit door. Notify surrounding personnel before startup to ensure safety.
c. During trial operation, carefully verify the compressor’s rotation direction. If reverse rotation is detected, immediately stop the machine, disconnect the power, swap any two of the three-phase wires, and restart. Failure to do so may damage the compressor (especially after any maintenance of the factory’s power supply).
d. The compressor must not operate at an exhaust pressure higher than the rated pressure indicated on the nameplate, as this can cause motor overload and potential burnout.
e. If the compressor is under remote control, it may start automatically. Warning signs must be posted to alert personnel.
f. In case of a malfunction or any unsafe conditions, do not force a restart. Instead, immediately cut off the power supply and clearly mark the equipment as out of service.
Applications of Nitrogen Generators Across Industries
SMT Industry
Nitrogen is used in reflow soldering and wave soldering to prevent solder oxidation, improve solder wetting, speed up soldering, reduce solder ball formation and bridging, and enhance overall soldering quality. A nitrogen purity of 99.9% or higher is typically required.
Semiconductor Silicon Industry
Nitrogen supports atmosphere maintenance, cleaning processes, and chemical recovery in the production of semiconductors and integrated circuits.
Semiconductor Packaging Industry
Nitrogen is critical for packaging, sintering, annealing, recovery, and storage processes. Our PSA nitrogen generators help leading manufacturers enhance their competitiveness and deliver greater value.
Electronic Components Industry
Nitrogen is used for selective soldering, purging, and packaging. Proper nitrogen maintenance has proven essential for the successful production of high-quality electronic components.
Chemical and New Materials Industry
Nitrogen creates an oxygen-free environment to enhance safety in chemical processes, supports fluid transport, and assists in petroleum applications such as system purging, nitrogen blanketing, tank leak detection, and combustible gas protection. It is also used in diesel hydrogenation and catalytic reforming.
Powder Metallurgy and Metal Processing Industry
Nitrogen is used for annealing and carburizing steel, iron, copper, and aluminum products, maintaining high-temperature furnaces, low-temperature installations, and plasma cutting of metal parts.
Food and Medical Industries
Applications include food packaging, preservation, storage, drying, sterilization, as well as medical packaging, protective atmospheres for transport, and gas replacement.
Other Industries
Nitrogen generators are widely used in coal mining, injection molding, brazing, tire inflation, rubber vulcanization, and more. With advances in technology, on-site nitrogen generation is increasingly replacing traditional methods like liquid nitrogen evaporation and bottled nitrogen, offering lower investment, reduced operating costs, and greater convenience.
